Tom Millington, Founder and Executive Director
Tom grew up in a Bolivian-American household where he inherited a passion and love for South America. In 2002 he created a student summer program and short-term seminars for US faculty for Brethren Colleges Abroad in Pinar del Río, Cuba. It was here where he became fascinated with Cuban history and culture. He also worked as Director of International Programs at Emmanuel College, Director of Study Abroad & Global Learning at Western Kentucky University and Resident Director in Cuba for Spanish Studies Abroad. He participates in peace studies education and believes strongly that study abroad can make the world a better place.
Alejandra Leon, Resident Director, La Paz, Bolivia
Alejandra was a LASPAU Fulbright Scholar and completed her Master's studies in Education & Human Development with a focus on Leadership and Organizational Learning at The George Washington University, USA, where she received the Leonard Nadler Leadership Award. Alejandra has a degree in International Business from the School of Production and Competitiveness (ePC) of the Universidad Católica Boliviana (UCB) Regional La Paz. She is Academic Director of Tu Beca Bolivia.
Martha Pérez, Resident Director, Quito, Ecuador
Martha has worked in the field of international education for nearly 15 years, most recently with BCA Study Abroad. Born and raised in Quito she knows the city and the host university, Universidad San Francisco de Quito very well. In addition to assisting our students, she finds opportunities for them to engage in community projects.
Glenda Santiago Navarro, Cuba Programs Coordinator
Glenda works as an art and museum specialist for the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana. She frequently teaches artistic workshops to kids, prepares exhibitions and gives tours around the museum. She loves music, literature, and is obsessed with television show from the US, Friends being her ultimate favorite. She also enjoys going to the beach, to the Malecón and hanging out with friends
Jessica Terrell, Student Engagement Officer
Jessica Terrell grew up with military parents, moving frequently across the USA and world. Her love of culture and language really began when based in Spain. She attended Spanish public elementary school and learned to speak Spanish through full immersion. She studied abroad in high school for a year in Ecuador, and was fascinated by the difference in culture. She got her degree in Anthropology, and taught English in Spain, Ecuador, Taiwan, Cambodia and Myanmar.
Getsy Chevarin, Intern
Getsy is a Business and Leadership Major with a Spanish minor at Nazareth University. After her study abroad experience in Cuba, she discovered a strong interest in international/global marketing as she found it combines all of her favorite things, connecting with people, being creative, and most of all, traveling and understanding different cultures.
